Castella’s have a snack-style and a brunch menu with wine suggestions for each dish. The restaurant overlooks the park, a mixture of green lawns, colourful patches of flowers and sweeping concrete steps and terraces all reflecting in the highly polished wooden floor.
A great wine list, of course, accompanies a selection of Mod-Oz dishes, served by young, inexperienced but willing staff who are easily confused, make mistakes but win you over with their genuine smiles and eagerness to please. I did find the fact that there was a wine suggestion to accompany Bircher Müsli rather interesting, though, and they will have to work on a better system of insuring that the wine by the glass is not served from a bottle that was opened three days prior.
