Winner announced today!
Sydney, 1st August 2000: The Foodie internet site, Australian Gourmet Pages, has presented its Restaurant of the Year Award for this year to Chef/Owner Tim Pak Poy and his team from Claude’s restaurant in Woollahra. AGP founder Franz Scheurer made the presentation at a breakfast for Tim and his staff at the harbourkitchen&bar at the Park Hyatt Sydney this morning.
Dr. Max Lake a regular diner at Claude’s said: “There are a lot of finely tuned palates running restaurants in Australia. Tim Pak Poy, in my humble opinion, is among the finest of these and I am delighted at the recognition of his extraordinary talent.”
“Our ‘Restaurant of the Year’ award acknowledges excellence in food and service”, said Mr Scheurer. “The standard set last year by our inaugural winner, Cheong Liew from Grange Restaurant in the Adelaide Hilton, was very high. And there is no one in Sydney more deserving of the recognition this year than Tim and his team”.
